La Taquería
It all began on 2017 when Jesus Amador moved to Auckland from Mexico; being born and bred in Mexico with influences from the north and south of the country, he developed a passion for the different flavours that told a different story from Mexican culture. In 2018 he started a Food Truck. With a passion of sharing Mexican culture through food, we serve authentic traditional Mexican food.
As part of Mayan beliefs (one of the most important indigenous tribes in Mexico) corn was a sacred food. They believe gods created them using corn, that’s why it was such a deep part of them. Corn was a gift from the gods, honouring that we focus on corn-based food (tacos!!) and as a gift from above. We hope that our truck will be a place where people from all ages and nationalities come together to experience the real Mexican flavours.
